About

A life shaped by art and leadership

From coloring books to corporate board meetings, my journey has been to engage the two halves of my brain. After reading Betty Edwards’ seminal book Drawing from the Right Side of the Brain, I began a deeper journey to understand all of me.

I was an Early Childhood major in college with a minor in Art Education. I quickly learned that I was not cut out for the classroom and moved into adult training and development in the corporate world.

Leadership becomes more powerful when analytical thinking and visual insight work together.

Linda K Sommer, MBA

For the last twenty-five years, I have had the privilege of serving as a Management Consultant to Fortune 1000 companies, practicing Executive Leadership Coaching with entry-level managers through CEOs, and building a consulting practice of my own. Most of that work has required my analytical and strategic left brain. But a few years ago, I decided to reawaken the right side of my brain where drawing, crayons, paint, paper, and beauty live. Today, I proudly refer to myself as an artist.
